 The MSE Index closed 0.624 per cent down having closed the session at 3,584.046 points. Only five equities were active over 33 transactions of 61,418 shares. BOV was the session’s only equity to register a gain as the bank managed a 0.45 per cent or Eur0.015 gain across 11 deals of 7,150 shares. Lombard Bank Plc, the other financial equity active today, closed unchanged at Eur3.09, having traded at a daily low of Eur3.08. Similarly, MaltaPost plc closed flat as 28,200 shares were traded over four transactions. Meanwhile, one deal in IHI plc of almost 3,000 shares depreciated the price by 4.38 per cent, while GO plc which was the session’s most active equity, lost Eur0.021. View more Local Daily Reports |

 The Malta Stock Exchange Index closed the first week of the month in decline having closed yesterday’s session at 3,603.56 points, hence 0.46 per cent lower on the week. The major banks disappointed again this week as both lost ground during three consecutive sessions, while activity took place across 13 equities, as four managed a gain, five equities closed in the red, and the remaining four closed flat. The Index’s negative streak now tallies to three weeks. During the week under review however trading volume reached a high since the beginning of the year, as high volume in MaltaPost reached an impressive level for the week.
